The SA & NT DTSC is auspiced by Alzheimer’s Australia South Australia and remains the only non-University based Centre is Australia. Our partners include all major tertiary institutions in South Australia and Northern Territory as well as key stakeholders such as Aged & Community Services SA & NT, geriatricians and other professionals involved in major dementia projects across acute and residential care.
&NT DTSC is co-located with the SA Dementia Behaviour Management Advisory Service, the SA National Dementia Support Program and the SA Dementia Care Essentials Program (key elements of the National Dementia Initiative). Regular communications through teleconferences and emails also link us to the Dementia Collaborative Research Centres and our relationships through Alzheimer’s Australia South Australia link us to providers of EACH-D packages.
Our Centre continues to utilise a consumer framework to support and inform the development and review of training and education programs and engages in regular needs analysis scoping to ensure we are meeting the needs of the sector.
National Priority Areas for the SA & NT DTSC are;
- Diagnosing Dementia (with a focus on GPs)
- Younger Onset Dementia
Our projects include a wide range of resources and on going training and education programs.
